New rules from 1 July: The first date of every month comes with some new rules and this time the beginning of July is bringing many changes for the common people. The rules for important works like railway ticket booking, credit card payment, online wallet transaction and PAN card are now changing. These small changes can have a big impact on your budget. Let us know what changes are going to happen from July 1, 2025.
Tatkal Ticket Booking
First of all, talking about railway ticket booking, the way of booking Tatkal tickets will change from July 1. Now while booking Tatkal tickets from IRCTC website or mobile app, an OTP will be sent to the mobile to the passengers. Until the passenger enters that OTP in the system, the ticket will not be considered confirmed. This new process will increase the security and transparency of tickets.
These changes will be made in the rules related to credit card
Changes are also taking place in the banking sector, especially in the rules related to credit cards. HDFC Bank has implemented many new charges for its credit card holders. If you spend more than ₹ 10,000 in a month on gaming apps like Dream11, MPL, Rummy Culture with HDFC card, then you will have to pay 1% extra fee. The same charge will also be levied on loading more than ₹ 10,000 in wallets like Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge. Apart from this, an additional charge of 1% will be levied even if more than ₹ 50,000 is paid on utility bills like electricity, water, gas etc. If more than ₹ 15,000 is spent on fuel in a month, then the same charge will be applicable there too.
ICICI Bank has also changed the rules related to ATM transactions for its customers. Now if ICICI Bank customers withdraw money more than three times in a month from any other bank’s ATM, then ₹ 23 will have to be charged on each additional financial transaction and ₹ 8.50 on non-financial transaction. This will increase the expenses related to banking.
An important change has also been made regarding credit card bill payment. According to the new rules of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), from July 1, all credit card bills can now be paid only through Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). This will affect platforms like PhonePe, CRED, BillDesk, because so far only eight banks have started this facility on BBPS.
PAN Card- Aadhar Link
Apart from this, the rules for making PAN card have also been changed. Now it will be mandatory to provide Aadhar card to get a new PAN card. If you already have both PAN and Aadhar, then it is also necessary to link them together. For this, time has been given till 31 December 2025. After this, if you do not link, you may be fined or your PAN card may be considered invalid.
The purpose of all these changes is to make the system more transparent and digital friendly, but they will definitely affect the pockets and habits of the general public. In such a situation, it would be better if you understand these changes in advance and make your plan accordingly.
