Three-day Mango Festival to begin at Pinjore’s Yadavindra Gardens from July 4

The 32nd Mango Festival will be held from July 4 to 6 at the historic Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore. The festival will jointly be organised by the Haryana Tourism Corporation and the Horticulture Department. Dr Shaleen, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism, said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini would formally inaugurate the grand event on July 4.

Chairing a meeting at the Red Bishop Tourist Complex, Sector here, Dr Shaleen directed officials to ensure smooth conduct of the festival. He emphasised on arrangements for law and order, parking, health services, mobile toilets, regular fogging inside and around the venue, and uninterrupted drinking water supply.

He instructed Kalka Municipal Council Executive Officer to make sure proper sanitation and parking facilities were in place before the event began. Given the monsoon season, fogging must carried out daily during the festival, he said. Provisions for water tankers, public and VIP toilets must also be ensured at the event venue, he said.

Arrangements for special bus services from Kalka, Panchkula and Chandigarh would be made, he said.

Dr Shaleen said this year’s festival would offer a vibrant mix of competitions and cultural performances. Day one would start at 10 am with rangoli, drawing, poster-making and a mango quiz for students, alongside folk performances by groups like the Nagada Party and Ektara Party. On July 5, events such as group dance, story writing, slogan creation, nail art and handwriting contests would be held. The final day would feature group singing, best-out-of-waste, mehndi application and the popular mango-eating contest, he said.
