Good News: Students and skilled professionals from these eight countries including India will get this special discount in this country
Work in New Zealand: New Zealand is the most peaceful country in the world, where Indians also go for jobs and studies. Indians also get good salaries in New Zealand.
Indians in New Zealand: Studying and working in New Zealand is going to be easier than ever. New Zealand has made the immigration process easier for students and skilled professionals from India and eight other countries. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has expanded the ‘Qualification Exempt from Assessment’ (LQEA) list. After the updated list, foreign qualifications of people from the countries included in it will be recognized without ‘International Qualification Assessment’ (IQA).
Qualifications from India, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sweden and Switzerland have been included in the list. Under the new rule, degree holders from these countries will no longer need to undergo International Qualification Assessment (IQA) when applying for categories such as Skilled Migrant Category, Green List and Accredited Employer Work Visa. Indian workers benefit the most from this, most of whom have obtained degrees from India.
What is IQA?
IQA is a formal benchmarking process. It is conducted by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) to determine whether a foreign degree meets the country’s academic standards. Historically, only Anglosphere countries were exempt from IQA. India’s inclusion is the first time a South Asian country has been added to the LQEA. This is a sign of India’s education reforms and increasing recognition of the quality of education in universities.
New Zealand is trying to bring Indian students
New Zealand wants to attract more and more Indian students. This new decision is in line with that. India is the first South Asian country to be recognized by LQEA. New Zealand had earlier started giving scholarships worth $2,60,000 under the New Zealand Excellence Awards 2025. It provides financial assistance of up to $20,000 per student in graduate and master programs.
