Berhampur: In a significant development in the ongoing land forgery case, the Berhampur Town Police arrested Jaladhara Dalai (80), husband of Rita Dalai, on Saturday.
The arrest follows the apprehension of Rita Dalai and Sanjeev Ratan on June 27 in connection with a fraudulent land deal that cheated complainant Milan Kumar Sahu of Rs 66,96,500.
According to the FIR filed by Sahu (42), son of Pratap Chandra Sahu, the accused orchestrated a criminal conspiracy to sell a non-existent plot at Gandhi Nagar, 8th Line, under Khatian No. 174/2880, Plot No. 292, measuring A0.042 decimal in Nilakanthapur Mauja.
