Breaking News: First Batch of Devotees Departs for Amarnath Yatra Amid Tight Security | ABP NEWS

The sacred Amarnath Yatra has officially begun, with the first batch of devotees departing from Jammu under tight security arrangements. Pilgrims from across India have started arriving in Jammu & Kashmir to seek the blessings of Baba Barfani. Over 146 vehicles carrying registered pilgrims have left for the Amarnath cave, marking the beginning of the 38-day pilgrimage. This year’s yatra holds special significance and heightened security due to the April terrorist attack in Pahalgam. As a result, extraordinary security measures have been implemented—ranging from ground forces, police, and army deployments to high-tech surveillance with drones, CCTV, and facial recognition systems. At the base camp in Pahalgam, a no-fly zone has been declared. The administration is also facilitating spot registrations for those arriving without prior bookings. Devotees, chanting “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bam Bam Bhole,” are seen in long queues at registration points, eager for the darshan of Lord Shiva. Baba Barfani’s devotees have shown unmatched enthusiasm and faith, undeterred by past incidents. Authorities are ensuring thorough baggage checks and identity verification to maintain safety. The collective efforts aim to offer a spiritually fulfilling yet secure pilgrimage experience to all.
