Ahmedgarh Rotary units usher in new year with renewed mission
Office-bearers and members of various units of Rotary International (RI) passed on the baton on the first day of the new Rotary Year, reaffirming their commitment to transforming this year’s RI theme—‘Unite for Good’—into reality.
Ahmedgarh Rotary Club president Venu Gopal Sharma and Rotary Club Dynamic president Shanky Goyal formally handed over the ceremonial collars to their successors, Bipan Sethi and Munish Dhand respectively, during separate ceremonies held in the town on Tuesday morning.
Assistant Governor Surinder Pal Sofat said that leaders of various local units and those from nearby areas had pledged to work towards making the Rotary Year Theme ‘Unite for Good’ a lived mission throughout the year.
“After expressing gratitude for the successful execution of service projects under the leadership of former District Governor Dr Sandeep Chauhan, the leaders have now resolved to work with renewed zeal under the guidance of incoming District Governor Bhupesh Mehta,” said Sofat, adding that the District Secretariat has decided to launch a coordinated campaign against war and violence.
Newly installed presidents Bipan Sethi and Munish Dhand said that members of their respective teams had pledged to contribute wholeheartedly to Rotary International’s core focus areas. “Our priorities will include promoting peace, fighting diseases, improving hygiene, saving mothers, supporting education and protecting the environment,” they stated.
