Admn reviews projects, Sukhna Choe cleaning in Zirakpur, Dera Bassi

The district administration today reviewed the ongoing drainage projects and cleaning operations along the Sukhna Choe particularly on VIP Road in Zirakpur and Barwala Road in Dera Bassi.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Komal Mittal, accompanied by ADC (Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal and senior officials from the Municipal council and administration, inspected projects and cleaning work.

During inspection, the DC assessed the progress of storm sewer work and expressed concern over delays. She instructed officials to accelerate the pace of projects and complete them before the onset of the monsoon season, ensuring both quality and efficiency in execution of works. She emphasised on strict action against illegal constructions in the area and called for deploying more building inspectors in municipal councils to curb violations.

“Drainage projects and the cleaning of the Sukhna Choe are crucial, especially with the monsoon approaching,” she told mediapersons. At Dera Bassi, the DC took serious note of the slow progress of the Barwala Road storm sewer work and directed officials to complete it on priority.
