SD College tops cut-off charts for business, commerce admissions in Chandigarh
The city witnessed cut-throat competition among students seeking admissions to local colleges, as the provisional admission list for centralised courses including Bachelors of Commerce (BCom), Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachler’s of Computer Applications (BCA) recorded high cut-off percentages.
The Department of Higher Education, Chandigarh, released the provisional list today and Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, once again emerged as the favourite for students.
In BCom, the college recorded the highest cut-off of 108.57 and the lowest of 105.2 in outside UT Pool. For the UT Pool, the cut-off has been recorded at a high of 107.50 and a low of 99.1.
The BBA stream saw the cut-off for outside UT Pool reach a high of 100 and a low of 99.1, followed by 98.8 and 90.6 in the UT Pool.
The Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, was the preferred choice for BCA, with the cut-off for outside UT Pool reaching up to 101.2 and 97.4 and 102.57 and 86.05 for the UT Pool.
Meanwhile, the DAV College, Sector 10, also saw a competitive cut-off list for BCom at 105.20 and 103.20 for outside UT Pool, followed by 104.56 and 92.20 for UT Pool. For BBA outside UT Pool, the figures stood at 96.6 and 95.2, followed by 90.4 and 82.8 for the UT pool. In BCA, the college had a 99.2 and 95.4 cut-off for outside UT Pool, and 102 and 80.8 for UT pool.
Other colleges in the city were landed in similar ballpark figures, with the Sector 11 government college recording a 106.4 and 103.55 cut-off for outside UT Pool and 103.34 and 94.4 for UT pool in BCom admissions. In BBA, the highest has been recorded at 99 and lowest at 95.4 for outside UT Pool, and 93.64 and 84.00 for UT pool.
At the MCM College, Sector 36, the high for BCom touched 106.78 while the low stood at 103.2 for outside UT pool, and 104.6 and 77.6 for UT Pool. In BBA, the high and low were 97 and 95.6 for outside UT pool and 95.95 and 83 for UT Pool, respectively. In BCA, the figures read 99.4 and 94 for outside UT Pool and 95.4 and 75.2 for UT pool.
The Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, which only offers BCom seats, the highest and lowest for outside UT pool recorded at 107.33 and 102.8 and 101.4 and 84.4 for UT pool, respectively.
At Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, the cut-off touched 103.4 and 102.6 for BCom outside the UT pool and 105.77 and 89.41 for the UT Pool. In BBA, the figure stood between 95 and 94.8 for outside UT pool and 83.6 and 82 for UT pool. For those seeking BCA seats, 96.6 and 94.6 were the cut-offs for outside UT Pool and 86 and 81.61 for UT Pool.
For Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45, the BCom high for outside UT pool was 104.6 and the low 101.8, whereas for UT pool, it stood at 93.6 and 68.01. The figures for BBA were 95.2 and 94.8 for outside UT pool and 93.4 and 79.6 for UT pool. In BCA, they were recorded at 93.73 and 92.8 for outside UT pool and 77 and 70.8 for UT pool.
At the Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, the highest cut-off for BCA touched 104.4 and the lowest 102 for outside UT pool and 96.8 and 79.4 for UT pool. In BCA, the highest cut-off for outside UT pool recorded at 99.13, followed by the lowest 94.2. In UT pool, the high was 92.2 and the low 75.2. The Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, saw the BCom cut-off read 103.2 and 101.6 for outside the UT pool and 98.2 and 61.2 for the UT pool. For BCA, the outside UT pool cut-off read 95.6 and 93.8, followed by 88.4 and 73.6 in the UT pool.
The Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector 50 recorded a cut-off of 106.22 and 103.20 for outside UT pool and 103.6 and 95 for UT pool. For outside UT pool, the BBA numbers were 97.6 and 95.34 and for outside UT pool and 91.51 and 83.80 for UT pool. For admission to the BCA stream, 97 and 95.4 were the cut-off figures for outside UT pool, and 99.2 and 80.8 for UT pool.
