Mobile vans providing aid to disaster-hit people: Anurag

Mobile medical vans of a health scheme initiated by former Union minister Anurag Thakur are reaching out to people affected by the natural disaster in parts of the state. The vans carrying relief material, essential medicines and sanitary pads were flagged off by former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal from Sameerpur today. The vans have reached the worst affected areas of Dharmapur and Seraj constituencies of Mandi district to provide relief to people.

Anurag Thakur said, “Himachal Pradesh is bearing the brunt of the natural disaster due to heavy rain and cloudbursts in many places in the past few days. Rain has caused devastation in the Dharampur area of my parliamentary constituency and many other parts of Mandi district. I have requested the my team of ‘Hospital – MP Mobile Health Service’ to support the relief and rescue work in the disaster-affected areas.”

Anurag said besides distributing relief material, medicines, the team had been examining the sick and distributing sanitary pads to needy women in the Dharmpur and Thunag areas. He added that more vans of would be sent to other remote areas affected by the disaster.
