7 get RI for life for murder of Panipat man

The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Amberdeep Singh, on Friday awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to seven accused for murdering a man at Lohari village in 2020. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each convict.

Rajesh Chaudhary, District Attorney (DA), said the incident was reported to the Israna police on July 10, 2020. The deceased was identified as Ankush of Lohari village.

Rajender, father of the victim, said in his complaint to the police that his cattle yard was near the Valmiki Basti in the village and some people in the village wanted to encroach on his yard. He alleged that Pawan, Satnaryan, Kimti, Rajpal, Jai Singh, Anil, Ajay and others entered his house on July 9 night after scaling the wall and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons.

Ankush died on the spot. Following the statement, the police registered a case and arrested the accused. The police had filed a challan against 15 accused.

On the basis of FSL reports and examining 16 witnesses, the court awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to the accused, all residents of Lohari village.
