'Hope One Can Calm Down On Hate': Vaani Kapoor Breaks Silence On Abir Gulaal Controversy, Says Social Media Was 'Hectic & Heavy'
Vaani Kapoor, who shared screen space with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in Abir Gulaal, his Bollywood comeback after nine years, faced a ban in India following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Months after the controversy, the actress revealed that social media had become 'hectic and heavy,' expressing her wish for people to calm down on the hate, as she had been receiving backlash for working with Fawad.
Vaani Kapoor On Abir Gulaal Controversy
On Tuesday (July 15), at the trailer launch event of her upcoming show Mandala Murders, Vaani addressed the hate without naming the controversy and said, "Last couple of months, years, everything became hectic and heavy on social media. So, I hope one can calm down on hate, create room for love and kindness, I know it doesn’t sound very interesting. But what you give will come back to you. If you hate or troll somebody, it will someday get back at you, and it’s going to sting you worse."
Vaani Kapoor Urges Everyone To Be Nice
Further, the actress added, "Just be nice, kind, and try to be just as humans. I’m wishing we could be in a happier space, and be kinder to each other and ourselves."
