Karnataka crash: 4 injured after Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar's convoy vehicle topples over during Mysuru-Bengaluru journey

Four members of a security escort for Karnataka Deputy CM D.K Shivakumar were injured on Saturday after one of their vehicles overturned at Karnataka's Mandya district.
The vehicle had been following the Deputy CM's car during his journey from Mysuru to Bengaluru after attending a Saadhana Samavesha at Mysuru. It toppled over after the driver allegedly lost control near the TM Hosuru gate, as per a Deccan Herald report.
Mahesh, Dinesh, Jayalingu and Karthik have been identified as the persons in the car who were injured.
Although Deputy CM Shivakumar was unharmed, and continued on his journey to Bengaluru, the four passengers of the toppled escort vehicle suffered injuries. A senior police official said that they were administered first aid, after which they were taken to the Srirangapatna Taluk Hospital for treatment.
They were later shifted to Mysuru's KR Hospital for further treatment, the report added.
The vehicle has also been partially damaged, due to the force of the impact after it toppled over.
The Srirangapatna (rural) police have registered a case, and have begun investigating the cause of the accident.
