A youth was arrested for the murder of a man in Lucknow's Munshi Pulia. He plotted with his friends to eliminate the victim, Manoj, a coconut water seller, to settle an old score from a decade ago. On May 22, Manoj was critically injured after the group assaulted him with iron rods in the dark of night. He later passed away. So what led to the murder? Manoj had assaulted the primary accused, Sonu's mother, in public. He spent the next ten years looking for the man who insulted his mother.

Manoj had an altercation with Sonu's mother and it ended in a physical assault on the woman. He left the area since he knew the consequences of manhandling a lady. Sonu was scarred that the man thrashed his mother in public and started searching for him in and around Lucknow. After a decade, Sonu tracked down Manoj, who he learnt was selling tender coconuts in Lucknow's Munshi Pulia area.

Sonu started shadowing Manoj to learn about his whereabouts, routines, and habits. Once he had a plan ready, he started looking for people to help him in the murder plot. His friends Ranjeet, Adil, Salamu, and Rehmat Ali agreed to help in exchange for a lavish booze party, NDTV said in a report.

On the night of May 22, the group attacked and fatally injured Manoj. They ambushed the man right after he closed his stall, the news report said.

While the crime was caught on camera, the UP Police had no idea who the youths were. Meanwhile, Sonu threw an extravagant party as promised, and the excited group went to the extent of posting the photos of the party on social media. According to the NDTV report, one of the accused men donned the same shirt while committing the crime as during the party. This was the breakthrough the cops needed, and all the accused soon landed in their net.
