Chandigarh IPS Y Puran Kumar Suicide: FIR Filed Against 15 Officers Ahead Of Wife's Complaint | ABP News

According to sources from Chandigarh, an FIR has been registered in the suicide case of IPS Y Puran Kumar. Based on a complaint from his wife, the FIR includes abetment to suicide. A case has also been filed under the SC/ST Act. Police stated that a case has been filed against those named in the suicide note. The wife directly mentioned the DGP and Rohtak SP in her complaint. Y Puran Kumar's eight-page suicide note names approximately 15 senior officers, including the DGP, Additional DGP, Chief Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary-level officers. The SC Commission has also taken cognizance of the matter and requested an action taken report from the Chief Secretary and DGP of Chandigarh within a week. The Chandigarh Police are under immense pressure to investigate the case, as several IAS and IPS officers of the Haryana government are named in the suicide note. This investigation is expected to be lengthy and could result in action against several officials, including Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor and the Rohtak SP.
