JU Inter-Departmental tourney concludes

JAMMU, May 1: The University of Jammu concluded its thrilling Inter-Departmental Tournament 2025–26 with an action-packed final day at the Gymnasium Hall. The tournament, held under the guidance of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Chairman, Campus Sports Committee and coordinated by Raj Kumar Bakshi, Incharge PTI, featured energetic participation in Carrom and Badminton from both men’s and women’s divisions.
In the Carrom Men’s Final, the Geography Department showcased exceptional strategy to defeat the Botany Department by 2-0. In the Women’s Final, the Design Your Degree Department outplayed the Law Department with a clean 2-0 victory, reflecting focus and finesse.
The Badminton Men’s Final saw the Department of Physical Education overpower the Law Department by 2-0 through a combination of powerful smashes and cohesive teamwork. On the women’s side, the DSRS Department claimed the title by defeating the Geology Department by 2-0, exhibiting stellar coordination and athleticism.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba highlighted the importance of sports in promoting holistic student development and fostering a vibrant campus culture. Smooth conduct of all events was ensured by officials Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravish Vaid, Vikas Karlopia and Gagan Kumar, whose efforts were widely appreciated.
