Officials listen to public grievances at Jhajjar village
Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya and other administrative officers held a direct dialogue with villagers, listening to their grievances during ‘Ratri Tehrav’ (Night Stay) programme at Dadri Toa village last evening.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from the villagers, who also discussed development-related issues directly with the officers.
Dahiya, who presided over the programme, ensured immediate resolution of several grievances of the villagers on-the-spot. He emphasised that this outreach was part of the Chief Minister’s vision to address local concerns swiftly and effectively by connecting the administration directly with the people.
A key highlight of the event was the presence of stalls set up by various government departments to spread awareness about welfare schemes. The Health Department’s medical camp attracted over 150 villagers who availed various services such as general check-ups, blood pressure and diabetes testing. Medicines were also distributed to those in need.
DCP Logesh Kumar also addressed the gathering, raising awareness about drug-free living and cyber safety. He emphasised that drug addiction harms not just individuals but families and communities, while the growing menace of cybercrime requires people to stay alert. He advised villagers to report cyber fraud by calling 1930 and shared vital tips for staying safe online.
Village sarpanch Sunil Kumar submitted a memorandum of demands to the DC on behalf of the Gram Panchayat. Many issues raised were resolved instantly, while others were marked for quick follow-up action.
Earlier, DC Dahiya described the outreach programme as one of the most effective ways for the administration to connect directly with citizens and understand ground realities. Under the state government’s directions, such programmes were being held at a different village each month to bridge the gap between the officials and the public, he added.
