Speaker, minister pay tributes to Lt Narwal

Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan and Haryana Minister for Cooperation, Jails and Tourism Dr Arvind Sharma visited the residence of Lt Vinay Narwal, who was killed in a terror attack at Pahalgam in Kashmir on April 22, and expressed condolences on his death. They strongly condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly and tragic act.

Dr Sharma said that the country stands united with the families of all those who lost their lives and assured that the Modi government would give a befitting reply to terrorism.

He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had convened a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security and taken several tough decisions in response to the incident. “After India’s decisive actions, Pakistan is scrambling, pleading with countries like the US and Russia to intervene. But India is firm and unwavering in its stance against terrorism,” Sharma asserted.

He said, “The time has come to wipe out terrorism and terrorists completely.” Sharma reiterated that the central and state governments are standing firmly with the family in this moment of grief. Meanwhile, Adampur MLA Chander Prakash also paid tribute to Lt Vinay.

On the issue of water, Sharma said that Punjab should not politicise the issue. “We have been receiving 10,000 cusecs of water for years. However, after the fall of the AAP government in Delhi, the AAP-led Punjab Government has started indulging in petty politics over water,” he said. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of PM Modi, the BJP would soon form a government in Punjab.
