Sitaare Zameen Par poster: The first official poster of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is out, and with it, Aamir Khan has given fans a glimpse into the spiritual follow-up to the 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par.' The poster shows Aamir in a possible role as a basketball coach — echoing his earlier character of an art teacher who changed a young boy’s life forever.

Along with Aamir, the new poster also introduces ten fresh faces who will be making their acting debut. Standing alongside Aamir Khan are Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar — a young and energetic ensemble that hints at a sports-centric narrative.

Netizens react

As soon as the poster dropped, social media lit up with reactions from excited fans. One admirer commented, “1000 Cr Loading Amir Sir!!! Inshallah,” while another wrote, “Ready to sob.” A third fan chimed in with appreciation for the film's music team, saying, “Glad to see that music is still given by Goated trio,” referring to composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20, marking Aamir Khan’s return to the silver screen after a significant hiatus.

Aamir on his character in Sitaare Zameen Par

Unlike his character Ram Shankar Nikumbh from 'Taare Zameen Par', who was empathetic and gentle, Aamir’s new role brings a sharp contrast. “My character in 'Taare Zameen Par' was Nikumb, who is a very sensitive person. In this film my character’s name is Gulshan but his personality is exactly opposite to Nikumbh. He is not sensitive at all. He is very rude, politically incorrect and he insults everybody. He fights with his wife, mother. He is a basketball coach and he beats up his senior coach. He is a person with a lot of internal problems, and the story is how he changes with the film. How these people in the spectrum teach him what it is to be a good human being,” Aamir told PTI in an earlier interaction.
