Laughter Chefs: Krushna Abhishek Gets Emotional, Reveals How Aunt Geeta Raised Him After He Lost His Mother When He Was 2 (VIDEO)
Comedian-actor Krushna Abhishek, currently seen on the cooking-based reality show Laughter Chefs Season 2 with his wife Kashmera Shah, got emotional in a new promo as he revealed that his mother's best friend, Geeta Singh, raised him and his sister Arti Singh after they lost their mother when he was just two years old. Geeta adopted Arti when she was a little girl, which is why Arti uses 'Singh' as her surname.
In the promo, Krushna was heard saying, "Jab main do saal ka tha aur meri mummy ki death ho gayi thi, Geeta aunty ne unse promise kiya tha, 'Main tumhare bachchon ko bada karungi.' Jab abhi Arti ki shaadi hui, toh unhone kaha, 'Maine apna vaada poora kiya,'" Krushna said, breaking down in tears. "Dosti ki asli misaal," he added as he hugged Geeta warmly.

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Krushna talked about his aunt Geeta and said, "My aunt, who is Govinda Ji’s sister-in-law, Geeta aunty, adopted my sister Arti when she was just a little girl. Geeta aunty was a very close friend of my mother and embodied true friendship. They were so close that they would often dress alike and were practically like sisters. When my mother was battling cancer and knew she wouldn't survive, Geeta aunty promised to take care of Arti and raised her as her own. She took Arti to Lucknow with her and fulfilled her promise to be her mother."
In 2024, according to a report by the Times of India, Krushna took home a whopping Rs 10–12 lakh per episode of Laughter Chef during season 1.
However, his remuneration is expected to have increased in season 2.
