J&K Govt Includes Children Aged Six, Widows In PDS

JAMMU, May 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the inclusion of children aged six years and above, along with any left-out eligible beneficiaries, in the Public Distribution System (PDS).
As per a latest directive, children attaining the age of six will now be added to their family ration cards under the appropriate categories such as AAY, PHH, NPHH, or Exclusion.
The order also directed that any eligible person not yet covered under PDS should be included as per norms.
In addition, the Government has decided that widows and divorcees not currently covered under PDS will be issued separate ration cards under PHH, NPHH, or Exclusion categories depending on their financial condition and eligibility under NFSA rules.
