Preview:
Delhi Capitals were lucky to escape as rain overshadowed their poor batting performance against the SunRisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Having won only one out of their last six completed matches, the Capitals must beat the Punjab Kings in Dharamsala to stand a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
The Capitals' top-order stumbled on a two-paced surface in Hyderabad and succumbed to 26/5 at one stage and had managed only 30 runs in the powerplay. Efforts from the likes of Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma carried their side to 133 in 20 overs, setting Punjab 134 to win. However, the second innings didn't even begin, with persistent showers eliminating the SunRisers out of playoffs race.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings have grown from strength to strength and delivered a complete performance against the Lucknow Super Giants at the picturesque Dharamsala Stadium. Based on their in-form batting unit, Punjab should start as favourites against the Capitals.
