Bangladesh shaking with fear after India’s strong action against Pakistan, Yunus govt orders on Hindus for…
India successfully thwarted Pakistani drone and missile attacks that attempted to target several military bases, including Jammu and Pathankot, on Thursday night. The Indian Armed Forces also foiled a similar bid at 15 places in the northern and western regions last night as tensions further escalated between the two countries following Operation Sindoor. The effect of India’s tough stand and action against Pakistan is now visible in Bangladesh as well. The situation has become such that the local police have had to issue a separate alert for the safety of the Hindu community.
There is a fear that the anger of India-Pakistan tension may fall on Bangladeshi Hindus. To avoid any riot, Bangladesh Police Headquarters (PHQ) has issued a letter on Wednesday directing police units to ensure the safety of minorities.
Strict Instructions Issued From Police HQ
As per the letter issued by the Bangladesh Police Headquarters, all the police units have been directed to give priority to the security of minority community specially Hindus. The instruction has been issued by the Operations Branch, signed by Additional DIG Shahzada Mohammad Asaduzzaman on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
Keeping An Eye On Border Areas And Social Media
Authorities have instructed law enforcement to heighten security in border regions to prevent any potential incitement of violence or unrest targeting Hindus. This increased vigilance includes strict monitoring of mobile communications, internet activity, and social media to counter the spread of misinformation and hate speech that could destabilise the nation.
Vigilance To Prevent Riots
All police units have been directed to strictly prevent any kind of sabotage, provocative statements or attempts to incite communal tension in the country. Stringent action will be taken against any sort of conspiracy. The Bangladesh government has clarified that it doesn’t want the law and order and the Hindu community to suffer the consequences of the tension between India and Pakistan.
To preserve national peace and harmony, Bangladesh is taking preventive measures. Given the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the government is acting proactively to mitigate the risk of communal violence, a recurring problem in the country’s history.
