RCB fans devastated as IPL 2025 faces sudden suspension, says ‘god has other plans’
New Delhi: The Indian Premier League’s 2025 season was suspended indefinitely by the BCCI due to escalating India-Pakistan tensions. At the time of the suspension, Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by Rajat Patidar and featuring Virat Kohli, was performing exceptionally well.
“IPL suspended indefinitely due to India-Pakistan military conflict,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Although aware of the stakes, devoted Royal Challengers Bangalore supporters, after an 18-year wait, were disappointed by their team’s IPL final loss.
Some fans attributed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) lack of success to misfortune, suggesting that they would have been victorious in 2021 if the IPL hadn’t been interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“IPL 2021 RCB were in good form- IPL postponed due to Covid, and later their player went out of form. In IPL 202,5 RCB were in good form- IPL suspended. RCB and their Luck,” a fan quipped.
“Nothing over country. Love you RCB we will try our best for next year you guys have done a great job this time, lots of love,” said a hopeful fan.
“I am so sad & heartbroken that IPL got suspended, but I can’t do anything. The nation comes first. When will RCB win? I don’t know, but I love that team so much. Praying for our soldiers they are giving it all for protecting this land n us. Just feeling numb..!” said another fan.
Some Royal Challengers Bangalore supporters, eager to see Virat Kohli win the IPL trophy for the team, circulated AI-generated images depicting him with the championship cup.
The IPL 2025 league stage was nearing its conclusion, with only a handful of matches remaining before the playoff and final rounds.
The IPL 2025 season has 16 matches remaining, encompassing the playoffs and final, following the completion of 58 games. The season concludes on May 25th.
Gujarat Titans currently top the IPL 2025 standings, having accumulated 16 points from 11 matches played, as of May 9th. Their net run rate stands at +0.793.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are tied with Gujarat Titans (GT) on 16 points in the standings. However, RCB holds a slightly better net run rate (+0.482) than PBKS (+0.376). It’s important to note that PBKS has played one more match than both GT and RCB.
