Airport Closed: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the government has suspended civilian flights at 32 airports in north and west India till May 15. This is likely to result in the cancellation of more than 400 flights per day. Aviation regulator DGCA said the temporary suspension will be in effect from May 9 to 05:29 am on May 15. Citizens have been requested to reschedule their travel and get updated information by contacting the concerned airlines. The government and security agencies are closely monitoring the situation and further steps will be taken as needed.

The airports that have been closed for civilian flights include Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Uttarlai, Rajkot, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Dharamshala, Bathinda, Patiala, Pathankot, Shimla, Kishangarh, Hindon, Porbandar, Mundra and Kandla. Most of these airports are in defense border areas and the number of civilian flights is limited.

Let us tell you that Pakistan carried out fresh drone attacks on 26 places from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat for the second consecutive night on Friday and the Defense Ministry said that the attacks carried out by the enemy on important establishments including airports and air force bases were foiled. Some members of a family in Ferozepur, Punjab were injured in the attacks carried out in the dark of night. This was the only case of injuries in the attacks. A blackout was imposed in all the states bordering Pakistan.

The Defense Ministry said that the situation is under control and is being monitored continuously and there is no reason to panic. A Defense Ministry spokesperson said that drones were seen at 26 places near the international border and the Line of Control. These include drones carrying suspected weapons. He said that these places include Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj and Lakkhi Nala.

He said an armed drone hit a residential area in Ferozepur, injuring some members of a local family.
