Punjab border areas get emergency fire machinery worth Rs 47 cr
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday dedicated fire equipment worth Rs 47 crore to strengthen emergency response in border areas of Pathankot, Rajasansi, Ferozepur and other vulnerable locations.
Mann said to cater to needs of border region fire apparatus, including small and medium fire tenders and other essential machinery worth Rs 47 crore has been dedicated to people of the state.
The new additions include Disaster Deployment Kits (DD Kit), Hydraulic Combi Tool Collapse Structures and Rescue Kits (CSSR Kit), Gas Detectors, Fire Entry Suits, Battery Backup Lighting Tower, Multipurpose Fire Tender, Quick Response Vehicle (Small) and others.
Army updating administration every two hours, says CM Mann
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said the Army was in constant touch with administration and updating them every two hours.
He urged the people to refrain from rushing to the spot of any missile or drone attack and touching the unidentified debris or remains until it has been defused by Army authorities.
The CM said the people should not rush to the spot where any part of drone or missile is found as it can be harmful before it is defused. Soliciting fulsome support and cooperation from general public, he urged them to immediately inform the police if they see any missile or ballistic material. He cautioned them against approaching or touching such hazardous objects as they can be fatal for them.
Mann said the state government was extending all help to the armed forces in this war against Pakistan. He added that the state government has already given nod for purchasing anti-drone system to check the smuggling of weapons and drugs through drone on the borders. Nine anti-drone systems will be installed along with 532 km of border with Pakistan.
The systems will help in checking the smuggling of drugs and weapons along with the border through the drones. Another Rs 51.41 crore will be spent by the state government for the initiative aimed at strengthening security along with border.
