98.91 % wheat lifted from mandis in Yamunanagar dist
A total of 98.91 per cent of wheat has been lifted from all 13 grain markets (mandis) of Yamunanagar district and 3,15,080 metric tonnes (MT) has been purchased till May 10. Last year, a total of 2,99,207 MT of wheat had been purchased.
According to information, 3,11,660 MT (98.91 %) of wheat has been lifted in the district, out of 3,15,080 MT of wheat purchased in the grain markets of the district.
Though entire stock has been lifted from Yamunanagar and Radaur grain markets, 99.90 per cent of wheat has been lifted from Rasulpur grain market, 99.69 per cent from Ranjeetpur grain market, 99.57 per cent from Jagadhri grain market, 99.42 per cent from Bilaspur grain market, 99.31 per cent from Saraswati Nagar grain market, 99.22 per cent from Jathlana grain market, 99.16 per cent from Kharwan grain market, 98.96 per cent from Pratap Nagar grain market, 98.52 per cent from Chhachhrauli grain market, 98.03 per cent from Gumthala Rao grain market and 94.11 per cent from Sadhaura grain market.
According to information, 50,073 MT of wheat, highest, has been procured from Pratap Nagar mandi. Jagadhri grain market stands second with procurement of 45,743 MT of wheat and Radaur grain market ranks third with procurement of 42,650 MT of wheat in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta said wheat was being purchased smoothly at Rs 2,425 per quintal. He directed the procurement agencies to lift purchased wheat from grain markets at the earliest.
He instructed officers concerned to pay special attention to facilities like drinking water, cleanliness, toilet and electricity in the grain markets so that farmers, commission agents (arthiyas) and labourers did not have to face any problem in the grain markets.
