Talented youth to play key role in PM’s vision of developed India: Edu Minister

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda has said the country’s talented youth would play a crucial role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.

He was addressing students and staff as the chief guest at the annual art exhibition and awards ceremony at Dada Lakhmichand State University of Performing and Visual Arts in Rohtak.

Dhanda lauded the depth and imagination of the students’ artworks.

“The artistic expression showcased at the event makes it clear that India is on the path to becoming a developed nation. No one can stop us,” he said. He praised the university for being named after Dada Lakhmichand, calling him an unparalleled figure in promoting talent.

The minister urged the university administration to ensure that students benefitted from their skills and that employment opportunities were secured for graduates.

“India was once a global leader, and it will reclaim that position. India’s philosophy is the finest in the world. Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life,” he added.

Citing global unrest and civil wars in several countries, Dhanda said global scholars were now exploring whether systems of one-government-one-law or one currency could exist worldwide.

“India received 48 per cent marks in the first round of a global research conducted in this regard, 67 per cent in the second, and 72 per cent in the third. This clearly shows that no force can stop India from becoming a global power,” he said.

Earlier, Dhanda, along with Vice-Chancellor Prakash Singh, spent nearly two hours visiting every stall at the exhibition.

He appreciated the artistic detail, creativity and professional outlook of the students, calling the exhibition a reflection of the university’s immense talent and potential.

On the occasion, 18 students were awarded for their outstanding performance.

Faculty of Visual Arts Chairperson Vinay Kumar presented the minister with a hand-painted artwork created by second-year animation student Rashi.

Over 1,000 artworks by more than 300 students were displayed, spanning categories such as awareness, social messages, illustration, advertising, oil painting, acrylic work, site-specific art, clay and fibre sculptures, photography, sketching, and augmented and virtual reality-based paintings.

India responded decisively: Dhanda

Later, Dhanda, while speaking to mediapersons, said India had responded decisively to terrorist attacks by targeting hideouts on Pakistani soil.

“After the Pahalgam incident, Prime Minister Modi made it clear that terrorists will face unprecedented retaliation. India has broken their backbone,” he added.

He delved into Haryana’s leadership in implementing the National Education Policy by 2025, introducing books before admissions concluded, and allowing students to study subjects like biology, physics and chemistry in their mother tongue.

Former Minister Manish Grover, university Registrar Dr Gunjan Malik, Dean (Academics) Dr Ajay Kaushik and BJP leader Ramesh Bhatia were among the attendees of the exhibition.
