Dhaliwal, Bhagat review supply of essential commodities
Cabinet Ministers Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Mohinder Bhagat along with senior civil and police officials visited the villages of Sarangdev and Baldarwal, located near the international border in Ajnala, where shelling and firing was carried out by Pakistan on May 9, and reviewed the latest situation. The ministers appealed to people in the border area to maintain peace and made it clear that the government stands firmly by the people of Punjab and was working to provide complete security.
Dhaliwal said Pakistan had tried to unsuccessfully inflict damages on the ordinary citizens in Punjab with drone and missile attacks. He said that the entire government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with three crore residents of Punjab, stood shoulder to shoulder with the Army. The ministers visited the fire brigade and shops in the markets of Ajnala city and took stock of the supply of essential commodities from the shopkeepers. They made it clear that hoarders and black marketeers who take undue advantage of the compulsions of consumers in a situation of war will not be spared. Such elements will have to face the law, they stated.
Both the ministers also held meetings with shopkeepers and reviewed the supply of essential commodities in the border town of Chogawan of the sub-division.
