Pune: Gen VK Singh To Review NDA's Historic 148th Passing Out Parade On May 30

Mizoram Governor VK Singh will be the Reviewing Officer at the National Defence Academy's 148th Passing Out Parade (POP) on May 30.

Notably, the event will see the first batch of 17 female cadets passing out from the premier tri-services academy. They are among more than 300 cadets who will graduate from the prestigious institution.

The first batch of female cadets was inducted into the NDA in June 2022.

Singh will review the parade and address the passing-out cadets as the chief guest at the Khetarpal Parade Ground in Pune's Khadakwasla. He will also ceremonially pin medals on those who have earned top honours.

Singh, an alumnus of the 36th course of the NDA, was the 26th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS). He also served as Minister of State in key portfolios in the Union government.

Meanwhile, the convocation of the course will be held on May 29, and Prof. Dr. Poonam Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, Gorakhpur, will be the chief guest.

After graduating, the cadets will join their respective pre-commissioning training academies. These include the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala; the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun for the Army; and the Air Force Academy at Dundigal, Hyderabad.
