Full circle: Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni set to shoot 100th film

Ra Karthik, who is primarily known for heartwarming tales, has taken a leap and has chosen to do a high-octane action film with Nagarjuna this time.

As per recent reports, Nagarjuna is all set to shoot his 100th film, in collaboration with Kollywood director Ra Karthik. With an acting career spanning 40+ years, he is known for his versatility: from romantic comedies to action packed sequences, he has done it all, cementing himself as a stalwart figure of the Telugu film industry.

Ra Karthik made a remarkable debut with the film 'Nitham Oru Vaanam', which was critically acclaimed by Tamil audiences for its heartwarming storytelling and exceptional cinematography.

Being a director primarily known for heartwarming tales, the decision to take on Nagarjuna's gangster film is a huge leap. The film promises to be an action-packed ride with powerful dialogues and intense narration, and fans are eager to see what the pair can offer.

Recently, during the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, Nagarjuna stated that he believed in a story that was close to his roots, for these were the stories that always resonated with people with similar cultures. 

Nagarjuna was last seen in 'Brahmastra: Part One—Shiva' (2022), a mythological fantasy adventure film directed by Ayan Mukerji and 'The Ghost' (2022), an action thriller film directed by Praveen Sattaru.

His upcoming movie 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is all set to release on August 25, and will see him and veteran actor Rajinikanth at the helm. He is also part of social thriller 'Kuberaa', alongside Dhanush.
