Panic In Palghar: Bomb Threat From Anonymous Email Triggers Evacuation At District Collectorate Complex
Palghar: An anonymous email claiming that a bomb had been planted at the Palghar District Collectorate Complex triggered panic on Tuesday morning, prompting immediate evacuation of all government offices and deployment of police and bomb disposal units.
About The Case
The threat email was received by the Collector's Office at approximately 11:00 am. It claimed that a timed bomb had been planted and warned of a potential explosion around 3:30 pm.
Initially suspected to be a hoax, a thorough verification by Palghar Police later confirmed the threat to be genuine, leading district authorities and disaster management teams to spring into action.
All buildings within the district headquarters complex, including the Collector’s Office, administrative buildings A and B, and Zilla Parishad office, were swiftly evacuated. Officials, staff, and visiting citizens were escorted to a safe distance away from the premises.
Authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unidentified objects to the nearest police station immediately.
The district administration has also appealed to the public to refrain from spreading or believing in rumors, emphasizing that misinformation can hinder the ongoing investigation and response efforts.
