J&K Branch of ICAI delegation meets CIT, discusses taxation matters

JAMMU, May 23: To discuss the matters impacting taxpayers and professionals in the region, a delegation from the Jammu & Kashmir Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), called upon Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals),
The delegation was led by chairman Sourav Pargal, vice chairman Amit Gupta and executive member Ayush Sawhney.
The interaction centered around key issues such as the disposal of pending income tax appeals, timely implementation of appeal effects, and the functioning and challenges of the Faceless Assessment system.
The ICAI representatives expressed their keen interest in strengthening cooperation between the tax department and the Chartered Accountants’ community to ensure more efficient and taxpayer-friendly procedures.
During the meeting, the committee members assured the Commissioner of full support from the CA fraternity in ensuring fair compliance with tax laws and in actively promoting awareness about the importance of accurate tax filing and timely payments.
They emphasized the role of ICAI in acting as a conduit between stakeholders and the tax administration for better understanding and transparency.
