New Delhi: The long-awaited third instalment of ‘Hera Pheri’ has taken a surprising turn as renowned actor Paresh Rawal has talked about the legal controversy surrounding his abrupt exit from the movie. According to reports, co-star Akshay Kumar has filed a lawsuit, and Rawal's legal team has officially reacted.
Paresh Rawal Responds to Legal Dispute Over ‘Hera Pheri 3’
Paresh Rawal tweeted recently to reassure moviegoers and industry insiders that his legal team has formally responded to Akshay Kumar's lawsuit and that the parties involved will evaluate the response and then the issues will be settled.
The actor wrote, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response all issues will be laid to rest.”
Rumour has it that Paresh Rawal has already given back the film's principal payment of Rs 11 lakh, plus 15% interest, and more as compensation for his departure from the project. In accordance with the production budget and contractual restrictions, his total pay for 'Hera Pheri 3' was fixed at Rs 15 crore.
The future of Priyadarshan's 'Hera Pheri 3' has been clouded by the long legal dispute, which has placed doubt on the film's ability to rejoin the original three (Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty) responsible for the comedic classic trilogy.

Remarkably, Rawal has already discussed his conflicted emotions on the Babu Rao character. He gained a great deal of fame and affection from the role, but it also resulted in typecasting. He said, “My Hera Pheri role is a gale ka fanda. I went to Vishal Bhardwaj in 2007 after in 2006 Phir Hera Pheri released. I told him, ‘I want a release from the image that has been set by this film.’"
