Ayushmann Khurrana And Rashmika Mandanna’s Horror-Comedy Thama Set To Make This Diwali Spooky

Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to bring his upcoming film Thama to theatres this Diwali, promising audiences a cinematic treat during the festive season. The actor, known for his eclectic film choices, shared his excitement about releasing a film during one of India’s most widely celebrated holidays.

“For me, Diwali is about togetherness, it is about family and it is about having the best community experience by spending time with your friends,” Ayushmann said, reflecting on what the festival means to him personally.

Calling himself a “big movie buff,” Ayushmann revealed his own Diwali tradition involves a visit to the cinema with family.

“I have a ritual to go to the theatres with my family and watch a film on Diwali! We have so much fun together and it makes me so happy to see scores of people thronging to the theatres to watch these big releases.”

With Thama, Ayushmann hopes to offer that very experience to moviegoers across the country.

“So, it feels amazing to have a big Diwali release with Thama. It is the biggest release of my career and I’m really eager to spread joy, happiness and laughter with the entire country with Thama. The fact that my film could be one of the reasons for people to have a great festive period feels really surreal,” he added.

The actor also praised the dedication of the team behind Thama, saying that everyone involved is striving to deliver a memorable theatrical outing.

About Thama

Thama marks Ayushmann’s first on-screen collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna. The film, described as a compelling love story set against a violent and mysterious backdrop, follows a historian who delves deep into ancient manuscripts. As he uncovers unsettling truths about local vampire legends, eerie forces begin to emerge.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Muniya fame, Thama also marks the debut collaboration between both lead actors and the filmmaker. The story has been crafted by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Fulara. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under the Maddock Films banner, the film also features Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles.
