'Was Part Of Script': Sonu Sood Reacts As Spiti Police Takes Action Against Him After Old Helmetless Bike Video Goes Viral

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has responded after the Spiti Police announced an investigation into a viral video that shows him riding a bike without a helmet in the picturesque Spiti Valley.

The clip, which surfaced recently on social media, features the Dabangg actor riding shirtless and without any protective gear. While the date of the video remains unconfirmed, authorities believe it may have been recorded in 2023.

In an official statement on X (formerly Twitter), Spiti police wrote, "A video is going viral on social media in which a Bollywood actor is seen violating traffic rules in Lahaul-Spiti district. According to preliminary information, the video appears to be from the year 2023. The task of investigating the authenticity has been handed over to DySP Headquarters, Kyelang."

Shortly after the post began to circulate, Sonu Sood addressed the controversy with a clarification on X.

"Safety First. We always abide by the laws, an old clip without the helmet was a part of our script. So kindly ignore. RIDE SAFE. RIDE SMART. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET," he wrote.

However, the actor did not clarify which project he was shooting for back then.

Along with the note, Sonu Sood also shared a video in which he can be seen riding a motorcycle while wearing a helmet, along with other bikers, seemingly reinforcing his message about road safety.

Meanwhile, the now-viral video left netizens angry and upset as they pointed out that Sonu Sood had previously advocated for road safety and actively participated in safe driving campaigns.

In April 2025, the actor had shared a message about road safety, and talked about the life-saving importance of seat belts - especially for passengers seated in the back.

The Fateh actor had opened up about a road accident involving his wife Sonali Sood, her nephew, and sister in Nagpur. Sharing the chilling experience via an Instagram video, Sood credited seat belts for protecting his family during the horrific crash.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor was last seen in Fateh with Jacqueline Fernandez. Besides playing the lead, he also directed the film. He was also seen in Tamil actor Vishal's Madha Gaja Raja, which hit the big screens in January 2025.
