Who are the 5 key Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor?
India has cited the presence of top Pakistani army officials at the funeral of terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor on May 7 as proof of political and military support for terror groups
Days after India targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the names of some of the top terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor have been revealed. The operation was launched to avenge the killings of 26 innocent civilians in Pahalgam on April 22.
The five key terrorists killed in the May 7 operation have been identified as Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, Mudassar Khadian Khas, Khalid alias Abu Akasha, and Mohammad Hassan Khan.
Hafiz Muhammed Jameel
Hafiz Muhammed Jameel was a Jaish-e-Mohammad operative and was the eldest brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar. He ran the Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. He was responsible for raising funds for JeM and radicalising youths.
Mohammed Yusuf Azhar
Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist Mohammed Yusuf Azhar was also Masood Azhar's brother-in-law. He was wanted in the IC-814 aircraft hijacking and is linked to several terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He ran the weapons traning programme of JeM.
Mudassar Khadian Khas alias Abu Jundal
Mudassar Khadian Khas was a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist who ran Markaz Taiba in Muridke. His funeral prayers were conducted by Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a designated global terrorist, at a government-run school. Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir sent floral tributes to the terrorist who also received military honours. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking military officials, including a Lt General and a Punjab inspector general. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Nawaz Sharif, also sent wreaths on her behalf.
Mohammad Hassan Khan
Mohammad Hassan Khan, another Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist, was the son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, the JeM PoK commander. He plotted several terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khalid alias Abu Akasha
Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Khalid alias Abu Akasha was the mastermind behind several terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He was also part of arm trafficking in Afghanistan. His funeral in Faisalabad saw participatation of top military officials and the local deputy commissioner.
